Slam Media Lab partnered with Luminary Impact Fund to launch their online presence, creating a modern and engaging website that aligns with their mission to improve family mental health. The project focused on developing a warm, inviting visual identity, enhancing content clarity, and integrating interactive elements to educate and engage users about the importance of family mental health.

The Challenge

How do we balance a high-impact mission with energetic, modern design?

Luminary Impact Fund is dedicated to improving the mental health of families, focusing on parents and children. The challenge was to create a website that not only educated users on family mental health issues but also embodied Luminary’s core values: family-first, action-oriented, and humble. The new site needed to present complex, dense content in a clear and accessible manner while providing an inviting and engaging user experience.

The Journey

Family-oriented branding

Luminary’s visual identity needed to exude comfort, warmth, and belonging. Getting inspiration from the sun and light, we began iterating on gradients, rounded shapes, and warm color tones to embody Luminary’s values.

Creating immersive web experiences with animation

How do you make a site feel interactive, inviting, and informative? We explored untraditional animations and interactions so users could discover current issues of family mental health and Luminary’s approach to making a positive impact in the field.

Optimal SEO Performance

Aesthetics shouldn’t get in the way of search. While creating a site that’s visually immersive might not always play well with the traditional search guidelines, we focused on developing smart copy and efficient HTML/CSS structure for SEO.

The Solution

A visual identity of community and belonging

The final logo represents the sun and the circular cluster of family members, forming a complete circle of wholeness and belonging. With warm tones and gentle color gradients, Luminary Impact Fund’s branding signifies the journey of transitioning to healing spaces and healthy family structures.

Introducing on-page interactions for an engaging experience

We aimed to develop a site that highlights Luminary’s astounding data on family mental health to educate the site’s visitors as soon as they land on the home page. We introduced scroll-based animation triggers to showcase impactful statistics, and consistently included creative hover animations to highlight the unique impact each member of the Luminary family brings to the greater community.

Family-friendly copy that ranks on search results

How do you plant the seed for novel and necessary approaches to family health? We crafted language that illustrated the urgency of Luminary Impact Fund’s mission, focusing on compelling hooks and writing sections that included keywords that help the site’s searchability and rank. From headings to footer tags, we ensured that Luminary could reach orgs who shared the same values and drive.
