After Apalis redesigned their website, they reached out to Slam for help to design the user experience and design system for two applications: their web-based internal app for brokers and their new farmer-facing iOS/Android app. Slam simplified the user journey, making it easier for users to navigate while creating a design system to effectively communicate important information and insights.
One of the main challenges in the agriculture sector is ensuring that farmers, who may not be accustomed to using a lot of tech, can easily digest and apply data to make informed decisions. Our goal is to create both a front and back-facing user experience that simplifies the data and insights for both farmers and brokers, making it easy for them to apply this information to their work. By providing clear, concise, and easily accessible insights, we can help farmers make informed decisions without overwhelming them with technical details.
We took the Apalis brand to new heights, expanding its basic brand identity into a branding that stands out, while keeping users engaged without overwhelming them. This design brand system empowered them with valuable insights, aiding them in making informed decisions about marketing their crops and optimizing yields.
After identifying the challenges users were facing, Slam implemented different permission levels tailored to account access and added new features such as Insights & History tabs. The result was a cohesive interface that resonated with both brokers and growers, simplifying their interactions and enhancing their experience.
Slam designed a new timeline and activity dashboard that allowed brokers to see an at-a-glance history of the account. This included viewing past decisions, understanding market impacts on profits, tracking interactions and internal notes, and accessing chat input from the mobile app. These features enabled brokers to act quickly, get the insights they needed, and make informed decisions to help growers maximize their crop yields.
