How do you turn an outdated site into a powerful tool for health equity and hiring?

Arc Health’s old website wasn’t keeping up. It lacked the functionality and design needed to support their mission or streamline hiring, leaving both job seekers and their team frustrated.

Understanding Arc Health’s needs and users

We began by diving into Arc Health’s mission and the challenges they faced with their old site. We wanted to ensure the new site didn’t just look better—it had to feel innovative and align with their goal of providing health equity. Our discovery process helped identify pain points in their current design and backend processes, which informed our approach.

To ensure the new site embodied Arc Health’s values, we led a brand exercise with their team. Through workshops, we clarified their core principles—like health equity, cultural humility, and innovation—and translated these into a cohesive visual identity. The outcome was a design that felt approachable, bold, and aligned with their mission.

Tackling outdated tools with innovation

One of the biggest challenges was BlueSky—an essential but outdated system for managing job applications. A simple iframe wouldn’t cut it, and many design teams might have stopped there. But not us. We developed smart workarounds to make sure users experienced a seamless, modern interface while still syncing perfectly with BlueSky.

By rethinking how job applications flowed, we designed:

  • A 2-click application process that made it fast and frustration-free for job seekers.
  • Smart filtering options that simplified finding roles, even with BlueSky’s data limitations.

These solutions didn’t just fix a problem—they elevated the experience for users and helped Arc Health stand out in the healthcare hiring space.

Designing a bold, welcoming brand for healthcare

The new Arc Health site needed to look as innovative as their mission. After clarifying their vision during our brand exercise, we translated it into a design that:

We crafted a design that reflects Arc Health’s mission and values with a clean, accessible layout. Soft, welcoming tones were balanced with bold, grounding hues to create a look that feels modern yet approachable. Dynamic graphics and circular elements introduced a sense of flow and interconnectedness, mirroring Arc Health’s work in building meaningful connections within communities. The result? A forward-thinking design that’s distinctly Arc Health.

A simplified job application experience

We reimagined the hiring process to be fast and intuitive for job seekers. With a 2-click application process and smart filters, users can quickly find the right opportunities and apply without friction. Even with the challenges of integrating outdated tools like BlueSky, we delivered a smooth experience that sets a new standard for healthcare hiring platforms.

Streamlined internal workflows

By integrating Webflow with BlueSky, we automated job synchronization and notifications, reducing the Arc Health team’s manual workload. These improvements let the team focus on what matters most: screening applicants and building relationships, rather than managing the backend.
