Boba Blinks creates sustainable, eco-friendly, vegan beauty products—specifically stylish, comfortable, and plant-based hemp lashes. They approached us with a Shopify site that wasn’t converting. Despite steady traffic from ads, visitors weren’t turning into customers. Our mission: to build a new Shopify site with e-commerce best practices, one that truly embodied their brand while driving conversions.

How do you turn a traffic-heavy Shopify site into a high-converting e-commerce platform?

Boba Blinks had built their own Shopify site, and while it was generating traffic, visitors weren’t converting into customers. The site wasn’t optimized for mobile, had a confusing user journey, and didn’t fully express the brand’s unique identity—leading to high drop-off rates. The challenge: redesign the site to drive conversions while staying true to their eco-conscious, stylish product line.

Creating a playful-bold brand for Gen Z

Our deep dive into Boba Blinks' brand discovery revealed exactly what Gen Z shoppers crave—bold, playful, and eco-conscious experiences. We knew the site had to feel vibrant, engaging, and effortlessly cool. From fun colors to interactive features that made visitors stop and explore, every decision was driven by what excites and connects with this generation. With sustainability at the heart of the brand, we made sure every design element reflected their values while keeping things fresh and exciting.

Designing for social media shoppers

With a large portion of Boba Blinks’ traffic coming from TikTok and Instagram ads, our next priority was to ensure the site could convert this influx of highly engaged users. We optimized landing pages specifically for social media visitors, creating clear calls to action and minimizing distractions. The mobile-first design was crucial here, as the majority of social media users browse on their phones. We also simplified the checkout process to reduce friction and ensure the payment process was smooth.

Optimizing the buyer experience to 1-3 clicks

We wanted to make it effortless for customers to find exactly what they were looking for. To achieve this, we designed wireframes and mockups that allowed users to browse and purchase Boba Blinks’ hemp lashes, beauty tools, or branded merch within just 1-3 clicks, regardless of where they entered from the homepage. By simplifying navigation and organizing product categories intuitively, we ensured a smooth, frustration-free shopping experience that encouraged conversions.

Empowering Boba Blinks with a Shopify 2.0 native build

We rebuilt the Boba Blinks site on Shopify 2.0, giving the brand full control to manage and scale their e-commerce store effortlessly. With a flexible, native build, Boba Blinks can now easily update products, test new ideas, and implement changes without needing constant developer support. This setup empowered the team to experiment with new layouts, product collections, and marketing strategies—all within an intuitive, user-friendly system.

Enhancing user experience with high-converting features

To elevate the user experience and boost retention, we implemented several key e-commerce features through Shopify apps. These included a wishlist for saving favorite products, a chatbot for instant customer support, promo codes to drive urgency, and product reviews to build trust. Each feature was strategically chosen to increase engagement, encourage repeat purchases, and improve overall site interaction.

Launching a vibrant, fun, and youthful brand

We brought Boba Blinks’ bold, playful spirit to life with a design that captured the attention of Gen Z shoppers. The site featured Lola the bunny, the brand’s friendly mascot, alongside a vibrant color palette that reflected the brand’s eco-conscious, youthful energy. Playful typography and lively illustrations enhanced the site’s fun, approachable vibe. Every design decision—from the bright visuals to the conversational tone—was crafted to create a memorable and engaging experience, making the Boba Blinks brand stand out in a crowded market.
